Your "PASSPORT TO LATIN CUISINE"
Senor Siesta Restaurant offers big flavors and a unique mostly gluten-free menu in an inviting, intimate setting with friendly service.
Has great outside seating under their new thatched roof, Protects from sun and rain so you can stay outside and people watch. There is a back yard which tourists don't usually know about and has a great vibe. There is usually a guitarist there who plays quiet tunes as you're eating. Very laid back island vibe. If you're wanting to go in during season and have a group of 4 or more, try to reserve the large table in the back that is semi enclosed...they make a different speciality drink each night and serve great seafood and ceviche and interesting chefs creations. They also have valet.
Next to the cottage is a different vibe. The live music goes all day and they are known for their margaritas and tex mex food. The outside bar is good for people watching..
I didn't want to mention Flavios as it's an island secret! Mostly locals know about this place, which has a great small bar with fun bartenders in a refined casual atmosphere. The happy hour menu is fantastic, with half price brick oven pizzas at the bar etc...great martinis too! The Italian food is great and Flavios is connected to their fancier digs next door, when you want to sit in a quiet dining atmosphere. This is a great place when you want to get out of the sun!
The Siesta Key oyster bar is a very casual come as you are sort of place. Live music is played usually all day and has great oysters and clams for happy hour prices! Sit outside upfront and watch the world go by while snacking on a dozen oysters...lots of sports on tvs too!
Just a short walk from the beautiful beaches of Siesta Key, Café Gabbiano brings Italy to Siesta. It's serene, casual ambiance imitates that of the paradise surrounding it. Café Gabbiano offers upscale Italian favorites & a lengthy wine list.
Blasé Cafe and Martini Bar
Has a great vibe with live music in the parking lot as well as a new pizza bar attached. They have two bars inside and is THE place to be for late night dancing and fun. It's the "go to"place at Halloween! Try it out after happy hour and have pizza and wait around for the fun to start after 9!

Selva’s Nuevo Latino cuisine represents the marriage of exotic flavors from Latin America and the United States. Their special emphasis on Peruvian dishes recognizes the contribution of Asian immigrants to Peru, who deliciously fused their cuisine and techniques with that of the locals.
Selva offers innovative, intricately prepared dishes, plated and presented as works of art. They've earned raves from all over the world, including from the New York Times, which said Selva is “serving possibly the best food in Sarasota,” and that “everything on the menu is worth trying.”
